Big Time Rush
Big Time Rush is an American pop-rock
boy band formed in the year 2009. The group is composed of Kendall Schmidt and
James Maslow along with Logan Henderson and Carlos PenaVega. They first signed
with Nick Records in 2009. Then, Columbia Records transferred them to their new
label. They appeared on Nickelodeon's television series, Big Time Rush. The
series aired from November 28, 2009 to July 25, 2013. The pilot episode
showcased the group's first single for promotion, "Big Time Rush".
The group has released three studio albums: BTR in 2010, Elevate in 2011 and
24/Seven in 2013. In 2014, the band went on an indefinite hiatus that would
last until 2021. They returned to live performances in the studio and released
"Call It Like It's Seeing It". Nickelodeon has signed Big Time Rush
to a record deal in 2009 concurrently with the TV show Big Time Rush.
Nickelodeon joined forces with Columbia/Epic Label Group in order to produce
the series and provide new music. Their debut single, "Big Time Rush"
was released on the show' November 29th 2009. Officially announced by
Nickelodeon in November 2009, the show was broadcast for the first time in the
Americas. The song was later released internationally. It debuted during a
one-hour special preview of the show and it is the current theme for the show's
opening. Promo singles like "City is Ours", "Any Kind of
Guy" and more were made available during the course of the series. Big
Time Rush performed "Famous" by Play. The song first came out to
iTunes on June 29, 2010. The second track, "Halfway There", was also
released on iTunes following its premiere on the series. The song quickly
became their first hit song to be charted on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at
number 93 due to digital sales. Big Time Rush's second single, "Till You
Forget About You" was released on September 21 on the 21st of September.
This was to promote the release of their debut album. BTR, the album BTR came
out on the 11th of October 10th, 2010, a day after the album's release. The
album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200. It sold 67,000 copies its
first week.
